Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro With Leica Cameras Set to Launch This Month in China: Everything You Need to Know
Xiaomi is gearing up for the launch of its next Civi series smartphone, the Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro. The company recently confirmed the upcoming release, following teasers and statements from Xiaomi's top executives.

A Design Focused on Elegance and Functionality
Xiaomi's Civi 5 Pro, codenamed "Little 15," continues the brand's tradition of sleek aesthetics and lightweight design. According to Lu Weibing, Xiaomi's President and head of the smartphone division, the Civi lineup is evolving from a trendy flagship into a well-rounded thin and light flagship. The Civi 5 Pro aims to match the user experience of leading smartphones like the iPhone while maintaining its unique design ethos.
The phone will be available in four distinct colors: purple, beige, white, and black, reflecting Xiaomi's focus on style and personalization. The metal frame and minimalist design showcased in the teaser images suggest that Xiaomi is targeting users who prioritize both fashion and functionality in their devices.
Leica-Powered Optics and Camera Setup
The Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro is set to feature a Leica Pure Optics system housed in a round camera module. The triple rear camera setup is expected to include:
- 50MP main camera with an f/1.63 aperture, optimized for low-light photography.
- 50MP ultra-wide lens with a 15mm focal length and f/2.2 aperture.
- 50MP telephoto camera with a 60mm focal length, supporting telephoto macro capabilities.
On the front, Xiaomi is fitting the Civi 5 Pro with a 50MP front camera, promising high-resolution selfies and video calls. This setup is expected to leverage Leica's expertise in optics, which could elevate image quality and sharpness, particularly in challenging lighting conditions.
Powerhouse Performance with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4
Under the hood, the Civi 5 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, a recent revelation from its Geekbench listing. The phone is set to offer 16GB of RAM in its top configuration, with a 12GB RAM variant likely to be available as well. It will run on Android 15 with Xiaomi's HyperOS on top.
The device is also expected to sport a 6.55-inch quad-curved OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution, delivering sharp visuals and immersive color reproduction.
Big Battery and Fast Charging
Xiaomi has packed the Civi 5 Pro with a 6,000mAh battery, a notable upgrade from the 4,700mAh capacity of its predecessor. The phone will also retain its 67W fast charging capability, as confirmed by its 3C certification.
Expected Launch and Price
While Xiaomi has yet to confirm the exact launch date, reports suggest that the Civi 5 Pro could make its debut on May 22. In China, the smartphone is rumored to be priced around 3,000 Yuan (~$415).
Additionally, there are whispers of it being rebranded as the Xiaomi 15 Civi for the Indian market, although this has not been officially confirmed.
