Xiaomi expects 30% sales from offline stores by the end of this year
MIUI has over 280 million users, in 56 languages, across more than 220 regions. Last year, MIUI 8 brought along innovative features, such as scrolling screenshots, SMS Caller ID, Dual Apps.
Chinese Smartphone maker Xiaomi today said that it is expecting 30 percent of it sales will come through offline stores by the end of this year.
"Offline is growing at a fast pace for us.In July- August (this year), about 20 percent of our sales were coming through offline channels. We hope this will increase to 30 percent by end of the year or early next year," Xiaomi India Head Manu Kumar Jain said.
The company has also tied up with Reliance Digital to increase its presence across the country, Xiaomi also sells its products through offline channels.
Jain said that "Apart from a few thousand retail points, we are also well on track with the expansion of our Mi Homes. We had said we will have 100 of those in 2 years and nine are already in place."
Meanwhile, the company announced the launch of a new smartphone series designed around people's lifestyles with Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite.
Xiaomi says that the Redmi Y series is designed for people who need a smartphone that can complement and enhance their everyday routine and lifestyle. Combined with the user enhancements of MIUI, Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite boast a large display and solid battery life that can get you through a busy day.
Alongside the new series of phones, Xiaomi also unveiled the global version of MIUI 9, the latest upgrade to its popular Android-based operating system, which includes new features designed for India.
MIUI has over 280 million users, in 56 languages, across more than 220 regions. Last year, MIUI 8 brought along innovative features, such as scrolling screenshots, SMS Caller ID, Dual Apps, Second Space, and more.
It also brings support for the Panchang calendar, festival cards for over 26 festivals in India, as well as Horoscope, News, Cricket News, Cricket Schedule, Football Schedule, Health and Fitness, and 'On this Day' information.
