Xiaomi HyperOS 3 Officially Announced: What’s New and Which Devices Will Get It
Xiaomi has officially taken the wraps off HyperOS 3, its latest custom skin, in China. The update brings refinements across performance, design, and cross-device connectivity, with an aim to make the software feel smoother and smarter.

Key Features of HyperOS 3
One of the biggest highlights of HyperOS 3 is its focus on animation stability. Xiaomi says the system has been tuned to deliver more consistent performance, with reduced rendering load and better energy efficiency. More than 100 system animations have been optimized to create a cleaner experience.
The update also introduces Xiaomi Super Island, which makes multitasking more flexible. It allows users to switch between three different “islands” of information and drag-and-drop items like itinerary details to share instantly.
On the design front, users get AI Dynamic Wallpapers, a centered clock option, new lock screen layouts with cinematic styles, and redesigned icons and desktop grids. The photo album has been improved too, supporting custom sorting, easier sharing, and even the ability to paste images directly between Xiaomi phones and iPhones.
Smarter Connectivity Across Devices
HyperOS 3 is pushing deeper into cross-ecosystem integration. It enables smoother transitions between Xiaomi phones, tablets, and even non-Xiaomi devices like Macs and iPads. Features like multi-window operation, Face ID unlock support, and notification sync make it easier to keep work and personal tasks in flow.
You can also reply to messages from your Xiaomi phone directly on your iPhone, blurring the boundaries between platforms.
AI and Privacy Upgrades
Xiaomi’s Super Xiao AI is more deeply integrated into the system. Features include instant translation, Circle to Search, quick shortcuts, and personalized suggestions based on your activity.
On the security side, HyperOS 3 introduces stronger data encryption and tighter controls on multi-device account logins. Xiaomi also says devices running the new software can be tracked even when powered off or offline, an addition aimed at improving safety.
