Just hours after an alleged Xiaomi teaser stating a new 'Prime' launch on 15th December going live, a new mysterious smartphone have surfaced in the popular benchmarking site GeekBench.

Xiaomi Kenzo may be the Redmi Note 2 Prime for India

As per the GeekBench listing the alleged Xiaomi Kenzo (yes that's what Xiaomi is possibly calling it in closed quarters) is powered by a 1.4GHz Octa Core Snapdragon SoC (MSM8952). Apparently it seems that it is none other than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 SoC. This is further coupled with 2GB of RAM.

The Xiaomi Kenzo runs on Android Lollipop 5.1.1 with the company's own MIUI7 ROM on top. The device in fact scored decently in the GeekBench test by clocking 1420 in single-core and 3420 in multi-core tests. Considering the fact that it has Snapdragon 617 SoC on the inside along with 2GB of RAM, the Xiaomi Kenzo may well be the 'secret' device which the company is planning to launch on Dec 15.

Xiaomi Kenzo may be the Redmi Note 2 Prime for India

As reported earlier the high flying Chinese brand is banned by the Supreme Court of India to sell devices in India with Mediatek SoCs. In fact this was one of the reasons why Xiaomi was unable to introduce the Redmi Note 2 (Review) for so long. Hence Xiaomi seems to have replaced the SoC inside the Redmi Note 2 before introducing it to India.

It's worth noting that if the Xiaomi Kenzo indeed turns out to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 (for India) then it might well be 'Made in India' - just like the Redmi 2 Prime. Some reports however beg to differ as they claim that the alleged device is none other than the Redmi 3.
