Xiaomi to launch Redmi Note 3 in India initially only to '100 Explorers'

    Xiaomi teased a 'something wonderful' announcement yesterday, saying that it will announce plans for a Redmi Note 3 launch in India. The Redmi Note 3 was launched in November in China and is priced equivalent to INR 9,300.

    Xiaomi has not yet announced any launch dates for the Redmi Note 3 in India. The company is looking forward to testing out the device in India. The Redmi Note 3 will to be tested by a number of people limited to 100. These chosen 100 people will get to use the phablet and also a chance to win the Mi Band when they complete specific challenges using the smartphone.

    Xiaomi is calling this "The Redmi Note 3 Explorer Challenge" where it is looking for "100 Explorers" who will be given a challenge. Once the explorers complete the challenge, the 'Explorers' will have to return the Redmi Note 3 back to Xiaomi.

    Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 boasts a full-metal unibody design, and is also the first Xiaomi device to boast a fingerprint scanner. The fingerprint sensor placed below the rear camera is said to be ultra-fast and Xiaomi says that it can unlock the phablet in just 0.3 seconds.

    The Redmi Note 3 is the first of devices from Xiaomi to run a MediaTek processor.The Redmi Note 3 has a 2Ghx MediaTek Helio X10 Octa-core 64-bit chipset. Xiaomi launched two variants fo the phablet in China - a 16GB storage variant with 2GB of RAM and a 32GB storage variant with 3GB of RAM.

    Xiaomi is yet to announced the launch date for the Redmi Note 3 in India.
