Xiaomi Mi 4 starts getting Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update

Xiaomi Mi Note recently received the Marshmallow update. The Marshmallow update for Mi Note was followed by a Marshmallow update on the Mi 4 flagship smartphone.

The device is directly being updated to the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1, in comparison to the Mi Note which has only got the Android 6.0. The Marshmallow update for the Xiaomi Mi 4 has a build number MMB29M and is sized at around 100MB.

The smartphone was launched back in 2014 when it came with Android 4.4.3 Kitkat. In October 2015, the smartphone received an Android 5.1.1 MIUI 7.1 Update. A company official has confirmed last month that the device along with the Mi Note will get the Marshmallow update soon. The updates are being rolled out in phases and should reach all the Mi 4 phones sooner or later.
