Xiaomi Mi 5 Gets Golden Treatment and it's Stunning: Price, Specs and More

Few years ago, not many handset makers offered gold variant smartphones, but now almost everyone does it. This trend seems to have started after Apple released the iPhone 5s in the gold variant some 3 years back.

In the same line, the Chinese handset maker Xiaomi has launched the golden variant of its latest flagship - Mi 5. The Mi 5 golden variant comes in both standard and high version, where it features 3D glass and not ceramic.

Moving on, the standard version of Mi 5 Gold variant comes with Snapdragon 820 clocked at 1.8GHz, Adreno 530 GPU and 32GB ROM while the higher version features an overclocked Snapdragon 820 at 2.15GHz, Adreno 510 GPU, and 64GB of inbuilt storage. Despite the change in storage between two variants, the RAM remains same for both with 3GB.

Talking about the specifications, on the whole, the Mi 5 sports a 5.3-inch Quad HD display with 2560x1440 pixel. In order to protect the screen from scratches, the Mi 5 display is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The Xiaomi Mi 5 adorns a 16MP rear camera with OIS, PDAF, 4K video recording, and dual tone dual LED. On the front, it is backed by a 4MP camera capable of recording 1080p videos.

This flagship comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow with company's custom MIUI 7 topped with it. The MIUI 7 brings a slew of new features and improvements and is lighter than ever.

Pricing?

On the pricing, the standard version of Mi 5 Golden variant retails at 1999 Yuan (approx Rs. 20,500), while the higher version carries the price tag of 2299 Yuan (approx Rs. 23,500).
