Xiaomi Mi 6X goes official with Android Oreo, up to 6GB RAM
At the moment, there is no information on Mi 6X's global availability and pricing.
After appearing in a countless number of leaks, Xiaomi Mi 6X has finally been made official in China. This mid-range smartphone is expected to launch in markets outside China as Mi A2. Talking about the specifications, the Mi 6X comes with a 5.99-inch FHD+ display with the aspect ratio of 18:9 and screen resolution of 2,160×1,080 pixels.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mi 6X is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. The smartphone comes in three memory variants. The base variant offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage, the middle one has 6GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage, and the top-end variant packs 6GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage.
On the optics front, the Mi 6X flaunts a dual rear camera setup. There is a 12-megapixel primary sensor with Sony IMX486 lens and f/1.75 aperture, and a 20-megapixel secondary sensor with Sony IMX376 for capturing bokeh shots. The rear camera also features AI capabilities and intelligent scent detection that can detect 206 different scenes.
At the front, the Mi 6X makes use of the same 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor for the selfie camera with f/1.75 aperture, soft LED flash and AI beautification.
Sporting a unibody metal design, the Mi 6X runs on Android 8.1 Oreo right out of the box with MIUI on top. The smartphone is backed by a standard 3,010mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. Xiaomi claims the handset can be charged from 0 to 50% in just 30 minutes with 18W fast charger.
The Mi 6X has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and its connectivity suite offers features such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C. The smartphone comes with Face Unlock technology as well.
The Xiaomi Mi 6X is available in color variants like Black, Blue, Red, Gold and Rose Gold. The smartphone is priced at 1,599 Yuan (roughly Rs. 16,910) for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version, 1799 yuan (roughly Rs. 19,025) for the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage version and 1,999 Yuan (roughly Rs. 21,140) for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant.
