Xiaomi Mi 6X (aka Mi A2) spotted on TENAA ahead of launch
Xiaomi Mi 6X, which could be launched later as the Mi A2 in select markets has been spotted on the Chinese certification database TENAA.
By now, we know that Xiaomi is working on the successor to the Mi A1 likely to be dubbed Mi A2 or Mi 6X based on the region. We have already come across leaks of the alleged Mi 6X cases and renders but there has not been any sort of official confirmation regarding the existence of the smartphone. Now, we have come across a leaked listing of Xiaomi Mi 6X on TENAA and the images are in line with the previous leaks.
Going by the TENAA listing via Slashleaks, the Mi 6X carries the model number M1804D2SE and flaunts a 5.99-inch display. The battery capacity is likely to be 2910mAh and the dimensions are given to be 158.88 × 75.54 × 7.3 mm. When it comes to the design, the Mi 6X appears to have a striking resemblance to that of the Redmi Note 5 Pro, which was launched in China with the moniker Redmi Note 5.
There appear to be dual cameras positioned vertically at the top rear and a fingerprint sensor as well at the rear. When it comes to the difference on the rear panel in comparison to the Redmi Note 5 Pro, the U antennas seem to be similar to the ones on the Mi 5X or Mi A1, its predecessor.
From the images revealed by the TENAA listing, we can get to see a red colored variant of the Xiaomi Mi 6X. We can also expect to see other color variants at the time of its announcement. The front panel appears to be black and there seems to be a selfie camera and an earpiece at the top of the smartphone.
For now, the other specifications or features of the Xiaomi Mi 6X, which could be the Mi A2 remain unknown. We do not know when exactly the smartphone will be unveiled. And, the one question, which remains unknown is if the device will be launched in a variant running Android One like its predecessor.
When it comes to the yesteryear models, the Mi 5X and Mi A1, the Android One variant running stock Android were both popular. The latter was launched in India at Rs. 14,999 and was considered to be a value for money offering with its dual cameras and at other features.
