Xiaomi Mi 6X teaser poster shows Blue color chassis, dual rear cameras
Xiaomi Mi 6X is expected to launch as Mi A2 in the Indian market.
Xiaomi Mi 6X, expected to launch globally as the Mi A2, will be launching on April 25. The company has confirmed the news by releasing an official teaser poster on Weibo. The poster shows the smartphone sporting a Blue color chassis with dual cameras at its back. In addition to the Mi 6X, Xiaomi is also likely to unveil the Mi Band 3 at the event.
Xiaomi Mi 6X has already appeared in so many leaks that we know what to expect from the smartphone. The smartphone's firmware files have revealed that it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor which has the clock frequency of 2.2GHz. According to TENAA listing, the Mi 3X will arrive in three memory variants.
These variants will have 4GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage, 6GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage, and 6GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage. The storage space will be further expandable using a microSD card.
The main highlight of the Xiaomi Mi 6X will be its cameras. Its rear dual camera setup is said to comprise of a 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 and a 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor with a similar aperture. The rear camera will come with 4K video recording support at a frame rate of 30fps.
For the front camera, the smartphone could make use of a 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a selfie flash. The selfie camera is likely to feature Portrait Mode.
The Mi 6X is further expected to pack a 2,910mAh battery and run on Android 8.0 Oreo topped with MIUI 9. Finally, the firmware files suggest that the smartphone will be fitted with a 5.99-inch display with FHD+ resolution.
As stated, the Mi 6X will probably launch in global markets as the Mi A2. It is worth mentioning that Xiaomi has discontinued the Mi A1 in India. This strongly indicates that Mi A1's successor could get unveiled soon in the country. Of course, we are yet to a confirmation on this matter, the hints are enough.
The Mi A1 was quite a popular device among Indian customers, and its successor is also expected to do well in terms of sales. If we were to make a guess, the Xiaomi Mi A2 will carry an affordable price tag just like the Mi A1.
