Xiaomi was initially rumored to take the wraps off either the Mi 7 or the Mi Mix 2S at MWC 2018. Now the company has confirmed that it will launch the Mi Mix 2S on March 27. However, the Chinese phone maker didn't reveal anything regarding the launch of Mi 6's successor, the Mi 7. From what we have been hearing so far, the Mi 7 is not likely to get unveiled at the ongoing MWC.

Xiaomi Mi 7 live images leaked; has reflective back and dual cameras

While we may not know a release timeline for the Xiaomi Mi 7, a couple of live images said to be of the smartphone have emerged online. Of course, there is no way of knowing whether or not the images are authentic. The design shown in the images looks familiar though as we had come across a few renders of the alleged Mi 7 featuring the same design language.

Full-screen design with no bezels

The Xiaomi Mi 7 appears to sport a full-screen design that gives it a premium look. Notably, other than the narrow forehead on top of phone that houses the selfie camera and sensors, there are no bezels at the bottom or the sides. The corners of the smartphone are slightly curved and the curved design extends to the back part as well. The Mi 7 is shown to sport an elongated display, possibly with the aspect ratio of 18:9.

As you can see from the image above, the Xiaomi Mi 7 has a Metallic Blue back which is highly reflective. Reflective rear panel is not something new; we have seen it on HTC U11+ and even Xiaomi's Mi 6 Silver Limited Edition. The smartphone is also equipped with vertically stacked dual rear camera setup with a dual-tone LED flash in between the two image sensors. Towards the bottom of the back, the Mi branding can be seen.

Are these images authentic?

Are these images authentic?

Truth be told, it is hard to answer this question. The icons shown in the display make us doubt the authenticity of these images. The icons don't look like the usual MIUI stuff. In fact, they are large and strange, which we haven't seen before on any MIUI-run Xiaomi phone. In any case, you better take the images with a pinch of salt or two.
