While the Mi representative didn't state the reason, the update has probably been canceled due to bugs. Many Xiaomi Mi A1 users reported about bugs in their devices after getting the Oreo treatment. The most annoying bug users are complaining about is the battery drainage issue which is closely related to the handset's Bluetooth function. Some users also faced issues while answering a call if the phone's display is turned off, though the phone is not locked.

Other than that, apps are getting closed suddely, while the ambient display is not working properly for some users. Thankfully, Xiaomi has released a statement in a community post acknowledging the issues. Apparently, only Mi A1 users with MyJio app are facing the troubles.

"We just dropped an Android Oreo update for Mi A1 a few days back. We stumbled upon an issue where some users were having issue with dialler app getting hanged or there's an unusual delay in making the call. Upon researching we found that MyJio application is causing ANR when a call is being made or received and hence the issue. The issue is seen when MyJio app is being present with all app permissions granted," stated the company.
