Xiaomi devices are greatly anticipated and Mi Mix 2 is no exception. Since it is a flagship, the rumor mill has been quite activated with this smartphone.
Other than rumors, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 has appeared on the benchmark site GeekBench as well. So some of its key specs have already been revealed. As far as the design aspect is concerned, French designer Philippe Starck is said to have designed the smartphone. Now, we have come across some new information from My Drivers about the device. To start with, Xiaomi may unveil the Mi Mix 2 on September 12.
If this is true, the smartphone will be launching sooner as compared to its predecessor. Presumably, Xiaomi has decided to snatch some market shares from Apple by releasing the device around the same time as the iPhone 8. We would also like to point out that Mi Mix has recently got a significant price cut. This definitely points towards an imminent launch of the Mi Mix 2.
The source further reveals the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will come in different memory variants. The standard one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage space. To remind you, the device was also listed with the same configuration on GeekBench. The higher version, on the other hand, will have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of native storage.
While the second version may seem unlikely, we are not denying the possibility. Currently, there are some phones featuring 8GB of RAM (OnePlus 5, Nubia Z17, Asus ZenFone AR) so Xiaomi can use the same amount of RAM on its upcoming flagship.
As for the pricing, the source claims the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will carry a price tag of 3,999 Yuan (roughly Rs. 38,450) for the basic version, while the 8GB model will be sold for 4,999 Yuan (around Rs. 48,000).
Talking about other features, the Mi Mix 2 is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The smartphone will come with pre-installed Android 7.1.1 Nougat with the layer of MIUI 9 on top.
It is also rumored to flaunt a 6.4-inch dual curved AMOLED 2K display just as the one we saw on its predecessor. The display could have a higher screen-to-body ratio of 93% and aspect ratio of 18:9.
