Xiaomi is all set to announce its flagship Mi Mix 2S tomorrow. The Mi Mix 2S is a highly anticipated smartphone which has been appearing in leaks since the beginning of 2018. Notably, it will be the first device from the company to use the Snapdragon 845 processor. Besides this, the smartphone will also come with AI camera features and face recognition technology.
Ahead of the launch, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has shared some details about the highest configuration model of the Mi Mix 2S via Weibo. He said that since Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 SoC is very efficient, cost of the chipset is also high. According to Jun, the cost of the Snapdragon 845 SoC along with 17 percent VAT exceeds 500 Yuan (roughly Rs. 5,150).
He also mentioned that the cost of the Snapdragon 845 is three times more than the Snapdragon 660. It seems like Jun dropped a subtle hint that the Mi Mix 2S will not be easy on the pocket. Besides this, he also revealed that the smartphone will have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage.
In terms of design, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S will sport a four-sided curved ceramic body. As stated, one of the key highlights of the smartphone will be its AI driven dual rear cameras with scene recognition, Full HD quality slow motion video shooting capability and more. Another expected feature onboard is wireless charging support.
Other than the 8GB model, the Mi Mix 2S is likely to have another variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB native storage. As far as the other specifications are concerned, the smartphone is said to arrive with a 6.01-inch OLED display with an aspect ratio of 18:9.
On the software front, the smartphone will probably run on MIUI 9 based on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. The leaked firmware files of the Mi Mix 2S had revealed that it would pack a large 4,400mAh battery to keep the lights on.
