Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S may debut at MWC 2018 with an iPhone X-like notch

February is an exciting month for smartphone enthusiasts due to the MWC (Mobile World Congress).Phone makers from across the world use this event to unveil their new offerings and MWC 2018 will be no exception. Just like every year, it will take place in Barcelona between February 26 to March 1. Among others, Xiaomi will be one of the exhibitors at the event.

As we reported yesterday, the company may announce its flagship phone Mi 7 at the MWC 2018. That said, a new rumor now suggests otherwise. It is claimed that instead of Mi 7, Xiaomi may unveil the successor of last year's Mi Mix 2 at the upcoming tech expo. Some details regarding the specs and features of the smartphone have also popped up online.

The new rumor says that the Mi Mix 2's successor is codenamed as Polaris and it will be launched in the market as Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S. The most interesting aspect of this smartphone will be its full-screen design with an iPhone X-like notch at the top. Even the Mi 7 is speculated to sport a similar design as that of the iPhone X.

In addition to this, Mi Mix 2S's display may feature an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Truth to be told, it sounds too good to be true. So we don't think we will get to see a display with such an aspect ratio just yet.

The leak further reveals, its under the hood specifications are pretty impressive as well. The Mi Mix 2S is likely to be powered by a Snapdragon Qualcomm 845 processor along with 6GB of RAM.

Many fans were disappointed last year as Xiaomi didn't include a dual camera setup on the Mi Mix 2. Thankfully, it won't be the case with the upcoming Mi Mix 2S. The smartphone is tipped to feature a 12MP dual rear camera setup in the Monochrome+RGB combination.

If you are wondering about the pricing part, it has been leaked too. As per the pricing details, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S will come with a price tag of 3,000 Yuan which translates to around Rs. 29,770. Having said all that, you should keep in mind that it is just a rumor which should be taken with a pinch of salt or two.
