Xiaomi Mix Flip with SD 8 Gen 3 SoC, Leica Cameras Debuts as Company’s First Flip Smartphone

Xiaomi has officially entered the flip smartphone market with the launch of the new Mix Flip, the company's first clamshell foldable smartphone. The Xiaomi Mix Flip aims to take on the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip6, bringing more competition to the flip smartphone market.

The Xiaomi Mix Flip features a large cover screen to match that of the Razr 50 Ultra, the flip smartphone with the largest outer display. Xiaomi calls it the 'All Around Liquid' outer display and it can do everything from placing widgets to running full apps.

Xiaomi Mix Flip Specifications

The Xiaomi Mix Flip is powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and incorporates a 3500mm2 vapor chamber, which is rather impressive for a flip smartphone. Moreover, the chip comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

The Mix Flip runs Android 14-based HyperOS. Xiaomi's first flip smartphone also features a sizeable 4,780 mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging support. The handset sports a 6.86-inch internal LTPO OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The main display boasts an adaptive 1Hz - 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate.

It features TÜV Rheinland Hardware-Level Low Blue Light, Rhythm-Friendly, and Flicker-Free certifications. On the outside, there's a 4.01-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a comfortable 16:9 aspect ratio, and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Both screens support HDR10+, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision.

For optics, the Mix Flip is equipped with two rear cameras, including a 50 MP Light Hunter 800 primary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and OIS and a 50 MP Leica Floating telephoto lens with an f/2.0 aperture. Up front, there's a 32 MP OmniVision OV32B selfie camera. The rear cameras on the Mix Flip are co-developed with Leica.

Xiaomi Mix Flip Pricing

The Xiaomi Mix Flip price in China starts from CNY 5,999 (roughly Rs 69,100) for the 12GB/256GB model. It also comes in a 12GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB configuration that cost CNY 6,499 (roughly Rs 74,850) and CNY 7,299 (roughly Rs 84,100), respectively.

The Xiaomi Mix Flip is offered in four shades - Black, White, Purple, and Nylon Fiber Edition. The Xiaomi Mix Flip will go on sale in China from July 23, although there's no word on international availability.
