Xiaomi recently proposed the idea of introducing an in-display dual selfie camera design to its upcoming mid-range and low-end devices, through a teaser. It seems the brand is giving serious thoughts on adopting the design, as we have a new report that reveals the latest patent for in-display camera technology. Just after Xiaomi, even Oppo and Samsung have announced their plans to introduce the under-display camera module.

If in the coming days we get to see smartphones featuring under-display cameras, the devices would henceforth be devoid of notches, hole punches or even pop-up setups. However, the in-display camera setup could be a challenging task to build, as the quality of the images might get blurry due to the improper exposure of the display of the phones.

To recall, Xiaomi launched its Redmi Note 8 Pro in India on October 16th. The smartphone sports a 6.53-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G90T processor, coupled with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB onboard storage option. It has a 64MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP rear camera setup, while up front it houses a single 20MP lens. And, it runs Android 9 Pie topped by MIUI 10.

The handset comes with Bluetooth 5 and USB Type-C connection options. Lastly, it packs a 4,500 mAh battery capacity which comes with fast charging support. The handset is available in Gamma Green, Halo White, Pearl White, and Shadow Black colors. It is available at Rs. 14,999, Rs. 15,999 and Rs. 17,999 for 6GB RAM/ 64GB ROM, 6GB RAM/128GB ROM and 8GB RAM/128GB ROM, respectively.
