Xiaomi Redmi 5A is being sold at just Rs. 3,999, here's how to avail it
Customers paying via Future Pay wallet will get a cashback of Rs. 1,000.
Xiaomi Redmi 5A is one of the most popular budget offerings from the company. The smartphone was launched in India in November last year at the starting price of Rs. 5,999 for the 2GB+16GB model. However, first 5 million units of the 2GB variant was sold at just Rs. 4,999. The 3GB+32GB model, on the other hand, was priced at Rs. 6,999. While the 3GB variant was sold in offline retail stores as well, the 2GB variant of the Redmi 5A was only available via Flipkart, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores.

Well, you will be happy to know that the 2GB variant is now available at Rs. 5,499 in some retail stores like Big Bazaar. What's more, customers paying via Future Pay wallet will also get a cashback of Rs. 1,000 on the purchase of Xiaomi Redmi 5A. Besides this, Axis Bank credit and debit card holders are entitled to get an additional 10 percent discount. This offer started from January 22 and it will be valid until January 28 or as long as the stocks last.
If you put together all these cashbacks and discounts, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A (2GB+16GB) is available at an effective price of just Rs. 3,999. Further breaking down the offers, the Future Pay wallet cashback of Rs. 1,000 will be credited to the customer in five monthly installments; starting from February to June 2018.
Customers will also get a discount of up to Rs. 500 (on the retail price) on payment using Axis Bank credit and debit card. As stated, the offer is only applicable at Big Bazaar's offline outlets.

The Redmi 5A sports a metal body which is quite rare in this price segment. It comes with a 5-inch HD 720p display. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a quad-core 64-bit Snapdragon 425 processor running at 1.2GHz.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5A is backed up by a 3,000mAh battery with 5V/1A charging, and it is claimed to deliver up to 8 days of standby time, and 7 hours of video playback.
In terms of optics, the smartphone is equipped with a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and LED flash. Up front, there is a 5MP selfie camera which also has the aperture size of f/2.0.

On the software front, the Redmi 5A runs MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat out of the box.
Connectivity suite of the smartphone offers features such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Infrared, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Micro-USB port.
