Xiaomi Redmi A3x Launched in India – 90Hz LCD Display, Unisoc Processor, 5000mAh Battery, and More
Xiaomi has added a new contender to its budget-friendly Redmi A series in India - the Redmi A3x. This phone prioritizes affordability while offering some features typically found in more expensive models. Let's take a closer look at what the Redmi A3x brings to the table.
Display
The Redmi A3x boasts a large 6.71-inch HD+ LCD display. While the resolution isn't the highest, the 90Hz refresh rate is an unexpected perk at this price point. This refresh rate translates to smoother scrolling and animations compared to standard 60Hz displays, making everyday tasks and even casual gaming feel a bit more fluid. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 provides some protection against scratches and minor bumps.

Performance
The Redmi A3x moves away from the MediaTek Helio processors used in previous Redmi A series phones and adopts the Unisoc T603 processor. This is a mid-range chipset built on a 12nm manufacturing process, and while benchmarks aren't available yet, it should offer a slight performance improvement over its predecessors. Users can choose between 3GB or 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM, depending on their needs for multitasking and app usage. Storage options come in at either 64GB or 128GB, with the ability to expand further via a microSD card slot for additional media storage.
The phone comes pre-installed with Android 14, the latest version of the operating system.
Cameras
The camera system on the Redmi A3x is kept simple. The rear setup features an 8MP primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, which should capture decent photos in good lighting conditions. A secondary QVGA camera likely assists with depth effects for portrait mode photos. The front-facing camera for selfies and video calls comes in at 5MP.
While photography enthusiasts may want to look elsewhere, the camera setup should suffice for basic capturing of everyday moments.
Battery and Charging
A major highlight of the Redmi A3x is its 5000mAh battery. This large capacity should provide ample power for most users throughout the day, even with moderate to heavy usage. When you do need to top up the battery, the phone supports 10W charging via USB-C. While not the fastest charging solution, it should provide enough for casual users.
Other Features
The Redmi A3x includes a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired headphones, a welcome feature for budget-conscious users who prefer wired options. FM radio is also included for those who enjoy listening to radio broadcasts. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS, covering the essentials for everyday use.
A side-mounted fingerprint scanner is present for unlocking the phone securely.
Pricing and Availability
Xiaomi has yet to announce the official pricing and availability details for the Redmi A3x in India. However, considering the Redmi A series' focus on affordability, we can expect a competitive price tag.
