Xiaomi Redmi K30 With 5G Confirmed In Development
Xiaomi recently introduced its mid-range 'K' series with the launch of the Redmi K20 and the K20 Pro. Now, the company has confirmed its successor - the Redmi K30. The latest announcement comes just a month following the official launch of the K20 series. Let's have a look at the details:
Xiaomi Redmi K30 Launch Details:
The Redmi K30 series has been confirmed by Lu Weibing, General Manager, Xiaomi on Weibo. Weibing revealed that the company has already started working on the successor of the K20 series and will equip it with 5G technology.
While there is no other information revealed on the upcoming series, it is expected to come with a Pro variant as well. Moreover, Xiaomi jumped the pop-up selfie camera bandwagon and will likely retain the setup with the K30 series. Also, there is no specific timeline available for its launch, however, it is said to go official in the first half of 2020.
Highlight Features Of The Redmi K20 Series:
The key highlight of the Redmi K20 series is the elevating selfie camera module which packs a 20MP (f/2.0 aperture) sensor. It's not just the selfie camera, both the smartphones pack a similar set of hardware with the primary difference being in the processor.
The Redmi K20 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 730 SoC, while the Redmi K20 Pro uses an octa-core Snapdragon 855 chipset. The standard variant comes with 6GB RAM+ 64GB storage and 6GB RAM+ 128GB storage configuration.
On the other hand, the Redmi K20 Pro is announced in 6GB RAM+ 64GB storage, 6GB RAM+ 128GB storage, 6GB RAM+ 256GB storage, and 8GB RAM+ 256GB storage configurations.
The triple-lens rear camera setup comprises of a 48MP (f/1.75 aperture), a 13MP ultra-wide sensor, and an 8MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom. Both the smartphones offer a 6.39-inch AMOLED display panel with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and 19:5:9 aspect ratio.
There is an in-display fingerprint scanner biometric authentication. Both the smartphones ship with an Android Pie OS layered with MIUI 10 skin on top. Backing up the units is a 4,000 mAh battery with 27W fast charging support.
