Xiaomi Redmi S2 spotted on TENAA listing with specs and design

Chinese Smartphone maker Xiaomi has been reportedly working on its upcoming smartphone Redmi S2 for quite some time now. Recently the phone was spotted in some firmware file and now, the smartphone is spotted in the TENAA listing with a model number M1803E6E. This new development is dubbed as Redmi S2 and it is expected to debut in China and India first.

According to the TENAA listing, the Redmi 2S will sport a 5.99-inch HD+ TFT display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone is said to be powered by a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, paired with Adreno 506 GPU. The Redmi S2 will be available in three RAM variants 2GB, 3GB and 4GB.

Along with an onboard storage option of 6GB, 32GB, and 64GB respectively. If that is not enough then you also have the option of expanding the memory up to 128GB via microSD card.

The listing indicates that Redmi S2 will come with a dual camera setup, with the combination of 12-megapixel Sony IMX486/ OmniVision OV12A10 primary sensor and a 5-megapixel Samsung S5K5E8 secondary sensor.

The rear camera on the back also comes with a LED flash and PDAF lens which will be responsible for EIS (electronic image stabilisation). On the front, the new Redmi phone will house a powerful 16-megapixel camera sensor.

On connectivity part, the smartphone will support 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS/ A-GPS. Further, there is an Infrared sensor and a rear-facing biometric sensor. The TENAA listing indicates that the dimensions of the phone are 160.73 x 77.26 x 8.1 mm, and it weighs 170 grams.

The device is listed in Black, rose gold, gold, white, blue, red, pink, gray, silver colours variants. The phone also comes with a Gravity sensor, distance sensor and a light sensor as per the listing.

The Redmi S2 is backed by a powerful 3080mAh battery and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. However, there are many rumors on the web suggesting specs about the Redmi S2, but we should not that Xiaomi has yet to confirm the phone. So it's better to take this with the pinch of salt and wait for the official announcement.
