Besides, the Nougat update seems to be part of the 8.5 MIUI version. The news was first made public by a group called Greek Xiaomi Lovers who posted a screenshot of an updated Redmi Note 4 on its Facebook page. The screenshot clearly shows that the smartphone is running Android version number 7.0 NRD90M and that it also includes Android security patches for the month of July.

Just to recall Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 smartphone in January this year with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The company has taken nearly seven months to bring the latest Android update for its popular handset Note 4. However, it looks like the update is being rolled out in Greece currently.

The update is about 1.3GB in size and since the update is being rolled out over-the-air, it may take some time before it reaches any device. Users outside Greece can always check for updates manually by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update.
