Xiaomi Rolls Out MIUI 11 Update To Its Redmi 6 Pro, Y2 Phones
Xiaomi rolls out the MIUI update to its Redmi 6 Pro and the Redmi Y2 handsets. The update not only comes with new features but also offers the latest October security patch to both the devices. For the 6 Pro, the update is of 534MB size, while the Redmi Y2 is around 1.5GB in size.
The update brings a couple of features like continuous swipe option for an additional menu in Game Turbo and a home screen shortcut inside the mode. And, it also offers dynamic themes for Always-on display.
Some more features which the update brings are breathing notifications and custom messages on the lock screen, system-wide dark mode and dynamic font scaling for changing character thickness, and new sound effects. The MIUI 11 provides Game Turbo with the option of switching the internet between two SIMs. Furthermore, Game Turbo gets updated with a new reading mode and screenshot gestures. Lastly, the update also introduces a new Mi Share file transfer tool and Mi Doc Viewer.
To recall, the Redmi Y2 launched with a 5.99 HD+ display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. It comes with Snapdragon 625 SoC, Adreno 506 GPU, 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB ROM, 3,080 mAh battery, dual rear cameras, and a single front camera. It is available at Rs. 7,999 for its given base variant. And, its higher variant of 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM is available from Rs. 9,198.
On the other hand, the Redmi 6 Pro arrived with a 5.84-inch FHD+ notched display. It is equipped with a 4,000 mAh battery. It has a 12MP and a 5MP camera at the rear, and a single 5MP front camera. The phone's hardware components including SoC, graphics, RAM, and storage are similar to the Y2. It is priced at Rs. 7,899 for 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM and Rs. 8,999 for 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM.
