Nokia 114 Hits Indian Stores at Rs 2,549, Asha 206 is Coming Soon

Nokia fans in India might be enthralled with the recent unwrapping of the Finnish handset maker's next range of Lumia devices, the 920, 820 following the unveiling of Lumia 620. However, it seems like the clambering handset maker is not done with launching web-enabled feature phones in India as far yet.

This can be said, as just after a week of market release of Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 in India, Nokia has today announced the official availability of its budget feature phone - Nokia 114 - in the country.

Back in December 2012, Nokia quietly unveiled the dual SIM feature phone on its India website. Now according to the Nokia India press release, 114 will be available in India at a wallet friendly price of Rs 2,549.

Key Specs

Launched with direct access to Facebook and Twitter from the home screen, Nokia 114 packs a 1.8 inch TFT display with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels, 16MB internal storage, 64MB mass memory, micro SD card supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 0.3MP rear camera, Nokia's Series 40 platform, Bluetooth 2.1, GPRS, EDGE and 1,020 mAh BL-5C battery offering up to 10.5 hours talktime and 637 hours standby.

Despite of being a feature phone, Nokia 114 has been designed to allow the consumers to access the web easily and to stay connected always. The handset is loaded with instant messaging and social networking applications like Facebook, Twitter, Windows Live Messenger and Nokia Chat.

Further, the handset comes with Easy Swap feature that allows users to switch between the two SIM cards without much hassle. Also, the handset comes preloaded with Nokia Xpress Browser delivering up to 90% faster browsing experience.

Further, Nokia 114 also comes equipped with Easy Swap technology, which will enable users to switch SIM cards without turning off the phone.

Commenting on the Nokia 114 launch, V. Ramnath, Director of Sales, Nokia India said, "The new Nokia 114 offers a great, affordable browsing experience for hyper-social consumers who want instant Facebook and Twitter access, as well as to stay connected on-the-go. This unique device supports 24/7 connectivity through faster Internet access with the Nokia Xpress Browser, resulting in a superior Internet experience for these price points."

Nokia 206 - Coming Soon

But, thats not all! On the other hand, Nokia has put up a teaser on the Nokia India Facebook page claiming "An eye-catchingly large 2.4 inch screen, the Nokia 206 dual-SIM comes in striking colours that'll brighten up your day. Also take advantage of the Intelligent Camera and take the perfect self portraits".

When inquired about the launch dates and pricing of Asha 206, Nokia spokesperson was not able to share information on the same, Gizbot has been informed that the handset will hit the retail shelves in India very soon. Further, Gizbot is still awaiting reply from the officials, and will update with the latest information as soon as it is obtained.

Initially, the handset was unveiled alongside Asha 205 in November last year. The handset boasts a 2.4 inch LCD display with 320 x 240 pixel resolution, Series 40 platform, 1.3MP rear camera and has no front camera, 64MB free user memory, a microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth v2.1 with EDR and a 1,110 mAh BL-4U battery offering 20 hours talk time and 680 hours standby.

Apart from these specs, it comes with software features including eBuddy screen notifications, free Nokia Life+ web app, including the Life Skills and Live Healthy services, a comprehensive mobile entertainment package including 40 free EA Games available for download from Nokia Store.

Also, Asha 206 has Slam feature - a new service that allows users to transfer media between devices that support Bluetooth without the necessity to pair them.
