Explorer is an entry-level budget offering from HTC and it offers Android experience to first time smartphone users. The handset features a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen with 320 x 480 pixel resolution, 600MHz processor, 3MP rear camera, Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS, HTC Sense 3.5 UI, 512MB RAM, micro SD card slot for expansion, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 for connectivity and a 1,230 mAh Li-ion battery offering 7 hours talk time and 445 hours standby.

HTC has priced Explorer at Rs 8,199 and at the time of launch, the company entered a tie up with Vodafone to offer exclusive 3G plans for buyers.

With a slightly larger display and bundled plans, HTC offering could be a rival to Nokia Asha 309, but the latter comes with a faster processor to make the competition interesting.
