The Finnish giant might be worried about the mythical Surface smartphone device, but it won't make any impact on the sales of Asha handsets for sure. After months of wait consumers in India can now look forward to the Nokia Asha 310.
Yes! It's finally available on the Nokia's online shop at a price of Rs. 5,601. At this fantastic price, it is just a bargain. Also the handset is available on Snapdeal and Saholic at Rs 5,491 and Rs 5,499. Nokia is facing a tough, rather tough battle with ultra affordable Android handsets. Samsung, who flashes its dominance with the Galaxy Y Android handset, has been re-connected with its fans by launching REX-Series. The REX-Series which supports open Java platform starts at a price of Rs. 4,280. Samsung calls REX-Series as "Smart Feature Phones".
In the coming months, Nokia has to face more efforts to say active in promoting Asha series. Why? Reason being, there is a world in the media that Firefox OS equipped smartphone said to enter Indian market. This is just a speculation, nothing else. In the mean time, Nokia rules the market under Rs. 5,000 handset market, at least, in India. Samsung and Micromax among other brands are catching up very rapidly.

Nokia is on alert when it comes to Asha range of devices. Last quarter, the company has informed that it managed to sell as many as 14 million units. In 2012, Nokia has come up with Asha 311 which is being sold in the market at an estimated price of Rs.7,139(sticker cost). The Nokia Asha 310 comes with a 3-inch Capacitive Touch display with a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels, Symbian S40 OS, 128MB of ROM ( expandable via micro SD card), GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth 2.1, USB 2.0, 3.5mm head jack, Wi-Fi, a 2.0-mega pixel camera given on the back that supports 4X zoom, and 1,110mAh battery. The handset not comes bundled with a dual SIM option. The biggest advantage of owning the Nokia Asha 310 is the built in support of WhatsApp and Foursquare like apps.
