Nokia has been playing a competitive role in the mid-range smartphones of late in India. Today the maker of the 41 MP camera featuring Lumia 1020 has released their latest devices in the country including the Asha 503 dual SIM smartphone. The handset is the best among all the Asha handsets so far. The device will be available in India only from January, 2014. As per the press release the device can be expected to retail at Rs. 6,799.
The Finnish handset company also announced its Asha 500 today but the device will made available later withing this month. According to Nokia, users of Asha 500 will get special offer from Tata Docomo and can avail free WhatsApp for three months following which it will be available for Rs 17 for 30 days.
Lets take a look at the specs of Nokia's best budget friendly smartphone, the Asha 503 Dual SIM handset as it is the star among the Asha devices.
The device comes with a 3 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen Display offering a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and 133 ppi pixel density. Additionally it is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The device runs on Nokia Asha software platform 1.2 and also features Accelerometer and proximity sensor.
The best part of the handset is a 5 MP rear camera which is accompanied by a LED Flash as well. Moreover, it is a Dual SIM supported handset. The device also features social media integration. Thus Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, LINE and WeChat come in handy with the device.
Connectivity options include Micro-USB, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi (WLAN IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) and 3G.
The device is powered by a Li-Ion 1200 mAh battery which is capable of offering 12 hours of talktime in 2G network and 4.5 hours in 3G network.
To talk about the design, the handset comes with a crystal like coating around the body. Thus the device looks attractive from all possible angle. Moreover, you can also have opt to buy a various color variant of the device.
After receiving an accolade from the Asha 501 handset earlier this year, the company soon planned to make the series more rich by adding the latest Asha 500, 502 and 503 to the league. The company is busy with their "6th Annual Strategy Sharing Summit" currently happening in Goa as of now.
