The Lumia 1020 features a 4.5-inch AMOLED WXGA display giving resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. The device is completely made of polycarbonate plastic, but the built quality is top notch in every sense.

On the other hand, Lumia 925 packs a 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ display with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. For the first time ever, Nokia has introduced a metallic styled Windows Phone 8 powered Lumia smartphone. The metallic frame also acts an antenna. Frankly speaking, both the devices look premium in nature.

OS, Processor, RAM and Storage

Both the Lumia 1020 and Lumia 925 use Windows Phone 8 mobile OS. So there is hardly any variation between the two in that regard. The Lumia 1020 comes with a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. The Nokia Lumia 925, on the other hand, comes fitted with a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. Neither the Lumia 1020 nor the Lumia 925 offer micro SD card slots. But both will come with 7GB Skydrive of online cloud storage free.


Nokia Lumia 1020 has a huge camera sensor compared to the Lumia 925. The 41-mega pixel shooter also houses Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), Xenon flash, Nokia Pro Camera App and plethora of free imaging apps. The 8.7-mega pixel camera should not be compared with Lumia 1020. Even though the Lumia 925 is great to take images in any given condition, there are still consumers who would like to know the difference between the two devices when their cameras are concerned.


Talking about camera features including Nokia Pro Cam and Smart Pro, then Zoom reframing, Lumia 1020 has it all, while Nokia Limia 925 only has Nokia Smart Cam and other regular features like Cinemagraph and others.

Connectivity and battery

THe Nokia Lumia 1020 and Lumia 925 come with standard connectivity features. Both the devices have Wi-Fi, 3G, Qi wireless charging (optional) and NFC. Both the phones have a 2000mAh Li Ion non-removable battery.

Price and Availability

The Nokia Lumia 1020 is priced at Rs 50,000, making it an expensive buy. The device could have been priced under Rs 45,000 easily. If you want a decent camera phone under Rs 30,000, than the Lumia 925 is a better option.


Well, of course Nokia Lumia 1020 has been built on the foundation of Nokia Lumia 925 so its a ground breaking device, but yes, if price is your contraint and you are an avid photographer Lumia 925 is a remarkable handset. It excels, when it comes to price, features and other aspects.
