The Finnish tech giant Nokia came up with its largest phablet till date in 2013, the Nokia Lumia 1520.
Earlier last month, it was reported that the Lumia 1520 saw an unprecedented demand, due to which all color options were out of the stock.
Therefore, it is safe to say that Nokia is enjoying its one of the best period with back-to-back hit devices. Even though the Nokia Lumia 1520 was initially made available in December last year, new rumors suggest that the company may come up with a mini version of the large screen handset.
Well, latest rumors from China indicate that Nokia seems interested in coming up with a mini version of popular Lumia 1520 around April this year. With that being said, the Nokia Lumia 1520 mini could set an example in the industry for being the first phone to have highest pixel density.
Since Sony has come out with a high-end mini version of Xperia Z1 at this year's CES 2014; therefore, tech experts are predicting that Nokia might have taken cues from the Japanese mobile maker Sony, while conceiving the idea behind Lumia 1520v (mini).
Though, there is no confirmation from Nokia's whether the company has any such plans; however, an alleged image of purported Lumia 1520v has been spotted on the web.
A Chinese website named Wpbar.cn got its hands on the alleged picture of Lumia 1520v. The site further claims that the supposed Nokia Lumia 1520v is expected to be unveiled in April. Co-incidentally, Microsoft will reportedly announce the Windows Phone 8.1 by adding new features. So yes, the new phone is said to be powered by latest version of Windows Phone 8.
Lumia 1520 Mini - What Specs to Expect?
Talking about internal hardware, the mini version of Lumia 1520 is rumored to sport a 4.3-inch AMOLED display having a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory (non-expandable), wireless charging support and a 14-megapixel rear-facing camera.
On the other hand, PhoneArena has come up its own take on the said device. The blog site large believes that the Lumia 1520 is an international version of soon-to-be announced Nokia Lumia Icon for Verizon. The Lumia Icon is said to be announced with a 5-inch FHD display.
With the upcoming Nokia Lumia 1520v, Nokia will try to take on Samsung, its direct competitor in the handset business. In the recent months, Samsung has taken over the handset market with number of low-to-mid-to-high-end Android based handsets.
As per the latest data, Samsung is the world's smartphone maker with a staggering 32 % market share, whereas Nokia is nowhere to be seen in list of top 5 smartphone manufacturers. However, despite many ups and down, Nokia has maintained its market share in the Windows Phone market, close to 90 %, according to AdDuplex.
