Nokia Lumia 625 Officially Launched: Top 5 Highlighted Features

Nokia is surely enjoying striking success by selling as many as 7.2 million Lumia WP8 handsets in second quarter of 2013. Looks like, under the leadership of Stephen Elop the ailing Finnish giant has started to improve considerably. Today in the afternoon, Nokia finally announced its much awaited Lumia 625. The Windows Phone 8 powered handsets China, Europe, Asia Pacific, India, Middle East, Africa and Latin America in Q3 2013. Before the release, it was said that the Lumia 625 was expected to be announced in Chinese market. Now the Finnish giant gone ahead with release and declared Indians are also eligible to experience the device in Q3.

The Lumia 625 is not an ordinary handset. It's the first smartphone launched with the biggest display. Even the high-end Lumia phones come with 4.5-inch AMOLED display. Clearly, the next step for Nokia is to announce its phablet device in September this year followed by first quad-core phone early next year.

In terms of specifications, the Lumia 625 packs a 4.7-inch WVGA display having resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. There's a curved 2.25D Gorilla Glass 2, which protects the screen from scratches. The display is so responsive that even if you wore gloves then also it works. In terms of dimension, the phone measures 9.3mm in terms of thickness and weighs 159 grams. The makers have added a 2,000mAh Li Ion battery fitted inside.

The rear back of the phone is curved. Nokia says they have used a new type of polycarbonate plastic to craft Lumia 625. Another great thing about the rear back cover is that you can easily do u change, as per your liking. The matt finish of the phone will surely invite more consumers to own this bad boy.

Well, quad-processor is still far way, but Nokia managed to squeeze 1.2-GHz dual-core processor inside coupled with 512MB of RAM and 8GB of ROM . The internal memory can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card.

Talking about camera, you will get to see a 5-mega pixel rear facing camera with LED Flash light. There's a VGA quality front facing camera for long video chat. The rear shooter is capable of recording video in 1080p Full HD format. In addition, the new Smart Camera app is a welcome change.

India is yet to adopt 4G LTE, but Nokia has announced the most affordable 4G enabled phone. It is to be seen whether Nokia brings 4G LTE enabled model in India or not. The street is abuzz with rumors of LG coming with its first 4G LTE handset in India. Even Sony India is planning to introduce 4G handset in December. Apart from 4G LTE, there is a provision to browse internet via 3G, 2G, and Wi-Fi.

A new handset launch is immpossible without matching accessories. To celebrate Lumia range, Nokia has tied with Zound Industries - the company behind Marshall Headphones, Molami, and Urbanears. There are three headphone models introduced alongside Lumia 625 : Boom, Knock and Pop. Other than headphones, you can also purchase the colorful back covers.

Nokia Lumia 625 will be available in 5 colors: Orange, Yellow, Bright Green, White and Black. The phone sits between Lumia 520 and Lumia 600.
