Nokia Lumia 820 comes out of its shell with Interchangeable Covers

Nokia has released more details regarding its recently launched Nokia Lumia 820 smartphone, running on Windows Phone 8 operating system. Company reports suggest that this phone will deliver a highly customizable experience for its users which will include a series of interchangeable shells for users to enjoy working on their new handset.

Reportedly, company sources claim that the upcoming interchangeable covers with the handset will offer more functions in addition to the modified looks. One of the covers can be used for wireless charging where as the other one provides rugged characteristics to the phone.

Nokia mentioned in a blog post about the bright colored shells which are designed for activating the wireless charging function. It will also be protecting the phone surface from wear and tear. Nokia also added that the covers have been created so as to fit different needs of the users.

Tuomas Reivo, the lead developer of Nokia Lumia 820 was stated as saying, “We’ve moved beyond just changing the color of your phone. People can now decide how they want to use their phone, by doing something as simple as changing a shell to add a function”. Nokia company sources claimed the interchangeable covers to be made up of PC/ABS and are designed for easy clipping in and clipping off. The shell also features inherent color complexion making it less prone to marks even if scratched on its exterior.

Rugged Shells

These types of shells feature a rubber-like material in its front portion and its edges giving users enhanced protection and grip. The rubber like material also features on the rear portion of the Lumia 820 phone. It will be available in colors such as Matte Yellow, Green and Orange together with a Black TPU trim.
