Nokia Phablet: Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Windows Phone 8 Competitor to Arrive This Year
Until now, Nokia was quite happy with the Lumia 920. Being targeted towards Samsung Galaxy S -series owners; it was a modest handset by all means. Well, nowadays two leading South Korean vendors - Samsung and LG, are busy preparing bigger screen devices (Galaxy Note 2, Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos, and LG Optimus G Pro). Sources close to the Financial Times claim that these days Nokia is kind of attracted towards phablets and plans to announce one big screen handset this fiscal year.
The report further says that Nokia made phablet is said to be blast away Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Details are pretty much nil at this hour. All in all, one could see Windows Phone 8 powered Nokia Lumia device this holiday season ie. during December 2013. Nokia was severely criticized for not coming up with bigger screen device that can compete with Samsung, and other tech vendors, who have already stole hearts and pockets of modern day consumers.
Just yesterday, Nokia announced its last quarter results. As expected, net sales fell 20 per cent to 5.9 billion Euros from a year earlier. The Finnish giant managed to sold 5.6 million Lumia handsets (powered by Windows Phone OS), which was up from 4.4 million registered in the previous quarter.
Nokia Lumia 928 Update
The struggling tech giant badly needs a hit device, which can crush biggies like Samsung, and Apple. Reportedly, the makers behind Nokia Lumia 920 could announce a brand new handset dubbed as Lumia 928 limited to US telecom operator Verizon, which should be made available this summer. At the time of writing, another interesting gossip around the upcoming Nokia Lumia 928 has arrived. GizBot has already informed you about the alleged press shot of the reported device. This time around, thanks to @evleaks, another set of images of the handset have managed to bring thunder storm. Appearance wise, home screen appears more vibrant, and chic.
"Later this quarter a new Lumia device is anticipated to have hero status with a leading US carrier", as per Stephen Elop, Nokia CEO. His comments during company's earning didn't reveal much, but is speculated that the device could be the Nokia Lumia 928. Or the mysterious handset could the one with 41-mega pixel shooter on the back. Was he just said ‘Catwalk'? Stay tuned to GizBot.
