Nokia Nseries is the name given to Nokia’s family of phones which are known for their high specification list and mouth watering features. This phone contains features which are way better than average phones compared to their rivals. Premium feature like the Carl Zeiss optics are integrated into these devices. Nokia N9 is the first Nokia device having the MeeGo operating system. The N9 is a beautifully designed phone that meets almost all users’ needs. This highly successful model has set a new bench mark for smart phone manufactures.
Recently Nokia has brought a firmware upgrade to the device by introducing the new PR 1.1(Version 13.016) update. This update will enable the N9 users to have a whole load of new and improved features. The PR1.1 is a very welcomed one in the sense that Nokia has extensively reviewed the short comings of the device and made the necessary improvements. This type of after sales services will make more and more masses turn to Nokia devices.
The very interesting update in the new firmware version is the addition of Swype keyboard and music control options in the lock screen. Swype keyboard can be used for very fast and easy text input. This enables the users to input text with one continuous motion of finger or stylus. This is a patented technology and can have an input rate of up to 40 words per minute.
The package comes with more added feature like a feature to interact with NFC tags by providing NFC tag reading option. NFC tags are near field communication tags that can be used for file sharing, mobile gaming etc. This system is expected to become a widely accepted one for making payments. The music controls on lock screen feature also come in very handy when you have to manipulate the music in lock mode and this option allows you to do that without fumbling through the menus. The photo and video shooting is enhanced with colour filters. This increases the quality of images very much. Very fast MfE syncing can be achieved since the new feature synchronizes only the active folders.
Nokia N9 PR 1.1 update also comes with better noise cancellation features. This means that even if you are travelling or on a busy street not much of the ambient noise gets in the way. This lets you have a trouble free conversation. The applications can now be easily closed by just swiping them down. That is if you have an open application just touch one end of it and swipe them down and the application will be closed. The stand by screen also gets a new look. The newer indicators include the ones for calendar and charging.
If the phone does not automatically update the operating system or in case if the automatic updates feature is turned off, then users can manually check for the update. There are also rumours of a PR1.2 update coming soon and it will contain options for more efficient copy and paste across the folders and better camera image quality. Not much of this piece of information is known. The exact price of the gadget is not available but it is expected to come around Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 35,000.
