HTC has started to roll out Android version 4.0 Ice cream sandwich operating system update for all the other non-Nexus models. HTC started updating their devices with Ice cream sandwich from Nexus range of smart phones. Now they have made the same available for HTC Sensation XE which is one of the flag ship models of the company.
A new HTC Sense user interface is also provided along with the update that has the version number 3.6. We can expect that more devices are to follow and in the whole HTC line up all the mobiles which are compatible with the new OS would get the ICS update in the near future.
The news is that the update will be first made available for HTC Sensation XE users in Nordic and regions of Germany. The rest of Europe will follow soon and once that is over the update will be made available globally. Users in the specific regions might have already got the notification for the over the air update.
Ice cream sandwich update would give the users access to lots of new applications and features and at the same time its efficiency and multi tasking ability are very high. Multi tasking is in fact one of the main features of android operating system and in ICS it is very prominent and much easier. The new version comes with a completely over hauled user interface. The new UI adds in vibrant colours and amazing transitions.
The notifications are very interactive and rich with features so that you would be on track with the incoming messages, calls and the timely system updates. Easy navigation through menus is made possible by the presence of virtual buttons in the system bar.
The new home screen is very rich in contents. You can add in as much widgets as you want and customize them. The new widgets can help you check mail or play music right from the home screen and that eliminates the need to launch specific applications for the same.
You can check whether the system updates are already available by searching for new updates in your phone. The update has a total size of about 300MB so it is better to use a Wi-Fi connection to download it. Third party developers have already made the ICS update available for other models but it is a bit risky procedure since many have wound up having their phones crashed while doing it.
So if you are a novice in flashing phones then it is better to wait for the official update to roll out from HTC.
