After Xiaomi, another Chinese smartphone maker - OnePlus is a potential candidate to take the center-stage globally, at least among the Chinese manufacturers. The already popular smartphone maker, which has its flagship killer smartphone - the One, (not the One from HTC) making all the buzz in several markets, is planning to achieve great number in terms of sales.

One Million figure is not as much compared to the ones which normally premium smartphone makers announce, but for a smartphone maker which sells its devices via invitation model, the number os remarkable.

OnePlus Plans To Sell Million Smartphones by the End of 2014

Speaking to Carl Pei at Dublin's Web Summit, he reportedly said that sales to date have passed half a million handset, and there is a push to reach a stretch goal of one million units before the end of the year." It's going to be hard," the Co-Founder and Director told me "but I think it's possible."

So, it's the one million units of OnePlus One smartphone sales that the company is talking about before the year falls (December 2015). Thus, it's not hard to deduct the number of devices to be sold within November and December 2014. The company is looking forward to sell 500,000 units of OnePlus One smartphone in 2 months. That could be a challenge.

The company has not started operating in the markets like India, which could get it more traction. However, the blog-post that the company has been posting for Indian fans suggest that the company will soon started selling the handset in the sub-continent soon. Obviously, the sale is going to be via invitation out here as well.

In a related news, it is also quite impressive to know that OnePlus only invested $300 for advertising the phone. The information came courtesy of the Forbes, where the company's co-founder also said, "We're making a single-figure dollar amount on each phone," and are looking forward to hit the accessories market in due future. The OnePlus plan apparently is to stay within the ecosystem by being pro-active in making cases, screen protectors and headphones.

It's true that the company has already made the name in the industry but it still has number of challenges to meet with all the new smartphones entering the market and beating the popular ones successively.
