OnePlus Releases its Own Alpha Version of Android Lollipop 5.0 ROM
As promised by the Chinese handset manufacturer, OnePlus has released its first non-Cyanogen build software for its OnePlus One smartphone. The latest firmware is in Alpha version and based on Android Lollipop 5.0. However, the full version is said to be available this year mid-February.
This latest Android firmware which is in Alpha state, is meant for those who are ready to try the Lollipop version on their phone. As this is the OnePlus own custom ROM, it will have some bugs and pure stock Android without any additional features. The company has published the entire procedure and download link in its forum.

OnePlus company has posted, " Now, it's our turn. It's time we show you just a little bit of what we've been working on. This is the first step in what will become our own custom ROM. It's so early, in fact, that this build contains no extras beyond the stock features of AOSP Lollipop. It's the base that we will continue to build upon, improve, and customize as we stabilize core functionalities on the latest firmware updates."
Earlier, OnePlus had collaborated with Cyanogen for its software updates. But, due to the Cyanogen's exclusive partnership with Indian manufacturer Micromax, OnePlus has been forced to develop its own ROM. Last month OnePlus was temporarily banned from selling, marketing, importing its OnePlus One smartphone due to the petition filed by the Micromax. Later, the ban was lifted from the country.
