Oppo R5 Now Available To Buy in India at Rs 29,990
Oppo may be largely unknown to many in the west, but in India it's now recognised as the brand with a potential. A few months ago, the company was literally struggling to carve its niche in the premium segment. However, now the situation seems to be way better what it was in the beginning of last year.
During the end of 2014, the Chinese handset had unveiled the R5 smartphone for Indian users. The Android-powered device, which is priced at Rs. 29,990 had been made available for pre-booking from 1st January.

Oppo R5, which comes with a path breaking design, is now available across India starting today, the company said. The R5, as you may already be aware, measures just 4.85 mm in thickness, making it one of the slimmest handset to date.
First off, the device has a respectable 5.2-inch AMOLED FHD screen and an octa-core Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.5GHz. It's a Snapdragon 615 processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. However that 64-bit processing won't be usable until the handset gets updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop from its Android 4.4.4 KitKat mobile OS.
The Chinese handset maker has included a 13-megapixel IMX214 sensor and an f/2.0 aperture, alongside a 5-megapixel shooter. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G, 2G, LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, and a 2000 mAh battery fitted inside. The Oppo R4 is supported by LTE connectivity.
The R5 smartphone also supports the VOOC rapid charging technology, which claims to charge the phone from zero to 75% in just thirty minutes.
