Indian smartphone market has tried and tested all the aspects of the mobile handsets from processor, OS, display size and everything else. Their greatest discovery was the demand of the devices with a dual SIM support. This idea has been in the minds of all the mobile manufacturers that are planning to stretch their business in India. Micromax and other domestic manufacturers have realized the need of the dual SIM support long time back, thus their devices don't go haywire. Moreover, now most of the manufacturers are coming up with tablets with dual SIM as well.
Realizing the need of the dual SIM has been a key to selling more units and thus most of the international manufacturers have already started coming up with devices that support dual SIM. Now we have already seen Samsung, Nokia, Sony coming up with the same concept.
Trying to catch up with this trend, LG has recently listed their latest dual SIM device on their official website called LG Optimus L4 2 Dual. Unveiled in May along with LG Optimus L4 2, LG Optimus L4 2 Dual carries a price of Rs. 9,850.
Going by the specs, the LG Optimus L4 2 Dual sports a 3.8-inch True IPS HVGA display and offers a resolution of 320x480 pixels. LG Optimus L4 2 Dual run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform along with a layer of LG's Optimus UI. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek's MT6575 platform with a 1GHz single-core Cortex-A9 processor along with PowerVR SGX531 GPU. It is supported by a lesser RAM of 512MB. The device houses an internal storage capacity of 4GB which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. Connectivity options include GPRS, EDGE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, and USB. The smartphone has a 3-megapixel rear camera with a LED flash and lacks a front facing camera. LG Optimus L4 2 is powered by 1,700 Li-Ion mAh battery.
Just like other dual-SIM smartphones by LG, the Optimus L4 2 Dual comes with a capacitive SIM switch button, which enables users to easily swap between the two SIMs.
LG Optimus L4 2 Dual is likely to face an intense competition from the various devices because most of the Indian domestic devices have already given the best of the specs in the similar price range. Not to mention the quad core devices making its way in the budget handset category. Considering all the aspecs of the devices here in India, Optimus L4 2 Dual is sure to have the following devices against it; Micromax Canvas 3D A115, Salora POWERMaxx Z1, Sony Xperia E Dual, Micromax Canvas Music A88, Karbonn Titanium S1 and XOLO Q700. However, LG may not make it up to the desi devices as most of the devices mention above has a front facing camera, better processor and bigger screen size.
