While Panasonic is looking to enter the market after a big gap with a device that could actually be one of the best smartphones in the given range and bring over some popualrity for the company, the M2 is already there with Sony already testing the market with the device.

Both the devices, as expected, are expected to maintain the current tradition among smartphones and are hence arriving with processors that are more tha powerful.

While the Sony Xperia M2 juices up the device via a powerful 2300 mAh battery, the P81 comes fitted with a more massive 2500 mAh battery.

While the Sony Xperia M2 is currently available at Rs. 19,849, the P81 is set to be available at a price tag of Rs. 18,990. So not much difference.

Panasonic may not a certain "brand name" attached to it and that might also be the ultimate demise of the P81, but if taken both the devices with an open mind, the Panasonic P81, which is at least 1k less than the Xperia M2, will easily turn out to be the best.

Sony might have the upper hand here since the Xperia range of devices have made such a name for themselves. But from an entirely neutral point of view, the P81 is a better buy.
