Philips I908: 5 Inch FHD Smartphone Now Listed on Official Philips India Site
Philips might not be a household name in the Indian handset market, but the longtime leader seems optimistic about its new premium phone set to debut in the country soon.
Philips has listed a new premium smartphone on their website called the Philips I908 that comes with a 5-inch FHD screen. The device appears to be a premium handset, and will compete against the likes of the Micromax Canvas Gold, among others. Philips has given a list of specifications of the Philips I908.

The device comes with a 5-inch FHD screen (1920 x 1080). The handset is powered by a 1.7GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor with Mali 450-MP4 GPU, paired with 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory and an expandable internal memory up to 32GB via microSD slot.
In the imaging department, there's a 13MP rear-facing camera with LED Flash, f/2.2 aperture, alongside a 5MP front-facing camera. The phone runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) out-of-the box.
Connectivity isn't an issue. The device comes with an array of connectivity options, including 3G/2G connection, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0 and GPS, among others. The makers have added a 3,000mAh battery fitted inside.
We aren't seeing much apart from this, and thus no details about the availability or pricing of this handset right now.
Last week, Philips had launched its Aurora i966, a high-end handset featuring a QHD Display and a 20.7 MP camera. The phone is yet to go official in India.
