Philips Launching 6 New Touchphones
Mobile phones have been rapidly growing for a lot of years now. The ancestral big sized mobile phones transformed to small sized ones which in turn transformed to compact smartphones and now the present has marked the advent and domination of Touchscreen smartphones, even with multi touch inputs. Philips tried with all their might to be popular with their mobile products also as well. But unfortunately, Philips mobiles died of pretty fast. Now, after a decade, after their downfall in the mobile industry, Philips has decided to make a grand comeback focusing on launching an array of mobile handsets; not just any handsets but the present kings of all mobile phones - touch screen phones.

Philips has announced that they would soon bring out their new version of touch phones and is pretty sure that their new venture would be very much fruitful. Philips have also claimed that the touch phones, coming in the month of September this year, will have a very long battery life and will definitely get a place in the hearts of those who own them. Among the 6 touchphones, two will facilitate the use of dual SIMs. Three of the rest will be bar phones with the longest battery lives. There are only unconfirmed speculations about the sixth one.

Apparently, the dual SIM phones are named Philips X806 Black and Philips X518 Black. Philips X806 Black model features an LED flash 5 megapixels camera with auto focus and a 3 inch touchscreen. The 1530 mAh Li ion battery powering Philips X806 Black will let the users play music for up to 70 hours of time, which is pretty amazing. This phone can stay in the standby mode for about one month, if the battery is fully charged. Philips X518 Black has a comparatively smaller display than Philips X806 Black, of a size of 2.8 inches. The touch screen display of this one is believed to be able to attract quite a lot of attention just by the shear looks itself. The camera for X518 will be of 2 mega pixels lens. Supposedly there wouldn't be flash or auto focus features. Both the phones obviously facilitate the use of external memory cards. The memory cards supported is SD. Philips X518 Black is said to have similar standby battery backup as Philips X806 Black but has a long talk time of 12 hours from full charge in the battery.

A lot of speculations are there about how the phones can standby for a month. It has been revealed that Philips is using a brilliant technology called Xenium for extending the battery life. The phones can make use of even near zero battery charge to extend the phones standby time considerably.

Let's hope the new touchphones from Philips are all they say it is and have reasonable or affordable price in India as well.
