After going through a massive number of leaks and rumors, the Google Nexus 5 smartphone clad in Red casing has finally been made official. The device has already been listed on the company's official Play Store site.
There is no difference in the pricing of the smartphone, and will be sold at the same price of Rs. 28,999 for the 16GB variant and Rs. 32,999 for the 32GB variant, similar to the White and Black models. Also, there is no need to get excited in terms of specs, because even the specs and features are unchanged. Thus it should be noted that the only difference is in the color.
Specs-wise, the latest Red Nexus 5 handset comes with a 5-inch full HD IPS display with a pixel density of 445 ppi. It is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
When it comes to power, the handset comes packed with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 quad core processor clocked to 2.3 GHz. The handset is also supported by a 2GB RAM and Adreno 330 graphics unit clocked to 450MHz. The handset runs on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS.
The LG Nexus 5 has an 8-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization. The new lens on the Nexus 5 is touted to capture more light for brighter night and sharper action shots. There is also a 1.3 megapixel front facing shooter.
The Red Nexus 5 features a Dual-band WiFi (24G/5G), 3G/4G LTE, USB and NFC (Android Beam) and houses a 16GB/32GB of on-board storage.
The handset draws its energy from a 2300mAh battery which the company claims to offer up to 17 hours of talk-time and standby time of up to 300 hours.
When it comes to software features, since the smartphone runs on the company's latest Android KitKat OS, you will have access to a number of features. Among all, wireless printing, immersive mode, face unlocking, widgets on lock screen and adding a third-party apps and games are unique and at the same time quite helpful.
