Realme 15 Pro Review: Power Meets Polish in Realme’s Most Refined Phone Yet, Albeit With a Few Compromises

Realme's 'Number' series has undergone a notable transformation over the years-shifting from its roots of offering value-driven hardware in the affordable segment to now prioritizing stylish designs and camera-centric features in the mid-range category. And this continues to be the case with the latest Realme 15 Pro.

With a starting price of INR 31,999, the Realme 15 Pro appears to have all the makings of a value-added mid-range smartphone. But figures on paper can often be deceiving. So we're here to dive into all the aspects of the Realme 15 Pro and find out if it is worth considering in 2025.

Design & Build

The Realme 15 Pro is available in three eye-catching finishes-vegan leather Velvet Green, Silk Purple, and Flowing Silver, the latter two featuring plastic rear panels that do give the appearance of glass. Our review unit, in Flowing Silver, boasts a refined, marble-like finish that exudes elegance. The camera island seamlessly blends with the rear design, enhancing the phone's cohesive and stylish aesthetic.

According to Realme, the back panel of each variant "draws inspiration from iconic party and dinner attire and the premium fabrics of Parisian haute couture ateliers." Paired with its sleek 7.69mm slim profile and curved design, the Realme 15 Pro not only feels refined in hand but also looks every bit the premium mid-ranger it aims to be.

Despite its sleek design, the Realme 15 Pro is plenty tough, opting for a plastic or vegan leather back, depending on which variant you pick, and feature Gorilla Glass 7i protection for the screen. Moreover, the back panel is resistant to fingerprint and smudges, while the phone has an IP68+IP69 rating, offering excellent protection against dust and water.

The slim and tall form factor makes the Realme 15 Pro feel a little uneasy in the hand, although the power and volume buttons on the right were easy to reach. The SIM tray, charging port, and speaker grille are located at the bottom of the phone. Inside the box is a transparent silicon case, a charging adapter, and SIM ejector tool.

Display

For the display, Realme has opted for a tall 6.8-inch 4D Curve+ AMOLED display with slim bezels. The screen is curved on all four sides, giving you maximum screen real estate for consuming content. It also has a comfortable 19.8:9 aspect ratio and good viewing angles. The panel offers impressive sharpness, vibrant colours, and excellent clarity, making everything from videos to games look strikingly immersive.

Additionally, the screen is easily visible irrespective of outdoor lighting. It features a peak brightness of 6,500 nits, a normal brightness of 1,000 nits, and 1,800 nits in HBM (High Brightness Mode). The panel features a 144Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. It also boasts class-leading 4608Hz PWM dimming and an instantaneous 2500Hz touch sampling rate.

Overall, the Realme 15 Pro's display stands out as one of the most advanced in its class, offering an ultra-responsive, vivid, and highly visible viewing experience suited for both everyday use and high-performance gaming.

Performance

The Realme 15 Pro debuts as India's first phone with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip. The chipset is accompanied by up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. While the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip isn't the fastest in the segment, it gets the job done in most multitasking scenarios and can run most games on high to medium settings without any hitches.

I tested Call of Duty: Mobile and BGMI on Realme 15 Pro, both of which ran on high graphics with frame rates set to max. Both titles ran smoothly for about an hour without any lag, although the phone got a little warm. The Realme 15 Pro also comes with GT mode, allowing you to boost performance (GT Boost), turn off all notifications, AI Eye Comfort for Gaming, screen recording, bypass charging, AI Gaming Coach, and more gaming-centric features.

You aren't going to have problems multitasking or recording video on the Realme 15 Pro as well. In Geekbench 6, the 15 Pro scored 1205 points in the single-core test and 3526 points in the multi-core test. In AnTuTu, the Realme 15 Pro managed an overall score of around 1.1 million points, which is solid but far from the best in the segment.

Overall, the Realme 15 Pro delivers reliable performance in most everyday and gaming scenarios, but it's not the fastest in its class-demanding games may require lowering graphics settings for consistently smooth gameplay.

Cameras

While the Realme 15 Pro does have three 50MP cameras as advertised, only two of them are on the back, one's up front. The dual-rear camera setup includes a 50MP Sony IMX896 primary sensor with OIS and an f/1.8 aperture and a 50MP OV50D ultrawide lens with an f/2.0 aperture and 115.6° FOV. Up front, the Realme 15 Pro opts for a 50MP OV50D selfie camera sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, although it misses out on OIS.

The dual-rear camera system, headlined by a 50MP Sony IMX896 primary sensor with OIS, captures vibrant, well-balanced images with impressive dynamic range and contrast. Colours are natural yet punchy, giving shots a lively feel without looking over-processed. Portraits from the main sensor are quite decent-while not class-leading, they're more than serviceable. Subject separation is handled well, and the background blur feels smooth and refined, avoiding the artificial cutout effect seen in some rivals.

While you can shoot in the full 50MP resolution, it's not particularly practical. The images don't show a meaningful jump in detail compared to the default binned shots, but they do come with significantly larger file sizes and slower processing times, making it more of a checkbox feature than a daily-use option.

The secondary 50MP ultrawide sensor is another standout. It maintains excellent colour consistency with the main sensor and delivers solid detail across the frame. There's minimal distortion at the edges, and the wide 115.6° field of view adds versatility for landscapes and group shots.

On the front, the 50MP selfie camera is surprisingly capable in good lighting conditions. Daylight shots offer pleasing skin tones and decent detail, making it a strong option for social media use. However, performance drops in low-light conditions. While the results aren't unusable, they tend to be softer and noisier. The screen flash helps salvage some detail in such scenarios.

The Realme 15 Pro can record 4K video at up to 60fps on both the front and rear cameras. However, HDR and Super Steady video recording is limited to 4K at 30fps, which is a major bonus over 1080p on previous Realme devices. The videos we captured on the main camera looked sharp with vibrant colours, while stabilization was good.

Overall, the Realme 15 Pro offers a well-rounded camera experience, with strengths in colour tuning, ultrawide consistency, and daylight selfies, although the lack of a telephoto shooter feels like a downgrade considering its presence on last year's model.

Battery

The Realme 15 Pro is equipped with a massive 7,000 mAh battery despite its slim form factor. We were able to use the phone for a day and a half on a single charge, this included browsing social media, gaming, using the camera app for around 20 minutes on both days, using the phone's AI features, and watching content on YouTube.

And when you run out of juice, the 80W adapter in the box can fully charge the phone in an hour or deliver a 50% charge in around 25 minutes. With its impressive battery life and fast charging capabilities, the Realme 15 Pro ensures you stay powered throughout the day without compromising on performance or convenience.

Software

On the software side, the Realme 15 Pro runs Android 15 based on Realme UI 6.0 out of the box, delivering a polished and intuitive software experience with minimal bloat. Realme promises two Android OS updates and three years of regular security patches with the 15 Pro 5G. The interface feels both familiar and refreshed, featuring sleek animations and user-friendly icon packs.

Standout additions include the new Flux Themes, which allow for personalised lock screens, and a touch-to-share feature reminiscent of Apple's AirDrop for seamless file transfers. Realme UI 6.0 introduces live alerts, ensuring you're always up to date without unnecessary distractions.

AI is deeply woven into the Realme 15 Pro's system, powering everything from the camera app to daily utilities. Features like Screen Recognition let you interact with on-screen content in smarter ways, while the AI Travel Snap Camera enhances photo quality, automatically optimising colours and removing unwanted glare or reflections. Editing tools such as AI Eraser and AI Ultra Clarity make post-processing a breeze. Gamers will also appreciate the AI Gaming Coach, which delivers real-time tips and alerts during gameplay.

With three years of Android OS updates and four years of security patches promised, the Realme 15 Pro's software feels future-proof, smooth, and thoughtfully designed for everyday use. However, we'd question its long-term support.

Verdict

The Realme 15 Pro continues the brand's evolution into a design- and camera-focused mid-range contender. With its premium aesthetics, vibrant curved AMOLED display, capable triple 50MP camera system, massive 7,000mAh battery, and clean, feature-rich software experience, the phone delivers solid value. Performance is dependable for everyday use and casual gaming, though it doesn't come close to segment leading.

While some compromises, like the lack of a telephoto camera and lower night selfie quality, are evident, they don't detract significantly from the overall experience.

The Realme 15 Pro is remarkably consistent across all areas, but it doesn't truly excel in any one aspect. It's a solid pick if you want excellent battery life, consistent cameras, an elegant design, a vibrant screen for entertainment, and smart AI features designed to simplify tasks and elevate your experience. However, it's not the right choice if you're chasing top-tier performance or want a telephoto lens for close-up shots.
