Redmi 14C 5G Price and Availability in India
The Redmi 14C 5G starts at Rs 9,999 for the base 4GB/64GB model. The 4GB/128GB model is Rs 10,999, and the high-end 6GB/128GB model costs Rs 11,999. The phone is available at Xiaomi's retail outlets, mi.com, Amazon, and Flipkart.
Redmi 14C 5G: Design and Display
I got my hands on the Starlight Blue of the Redmi 14C, which features a shimmering glass back panel with a ring pattern, giving it a premium look, and the phone also comes in Stardust Purple and Stargaze Black colour options.
Despite housing a large battery, the Redmi 14C boasts an ultra-slim 8.22mm body, making it sleek and comfortable to use. It also ensures a secure grip, allowing for convenient one-handed usage.
The phone's power button and volume rockers are placed on the right spine, making them easily accessible. At the top of the device, you'll find a 3.5mm headphone jack, catering to users who still enjoy using their existing wired earphones.

On the front, the Redmi 14C 5G has a large 6.88-inch HD+ display with a peak brightness of 600 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate. At the rear, the phone gets a circular camera module, which is quite similar to the Redmi A4 5G (Review).
In terms of design, it doesn't let you down and a 120Hz refresh rate panel in this price range is another standout feature. Even the built-in speaker delivers excellent sound quality, I didn't need to use any headphones while watching anything on it unless the source volume of the content was not low.
However, the lower resolution panel looks very dated and bland, as there are similarly-priced smartphones like the Realme Narzo 70x 5G and Vivo T3x 5G which offer FHD+ resolution.
The glossy back also attracts fingerprints; however, this can be overcome by dressing up the phone with a case. It's worth noting that Xiaomi doesn't provide any case in the box, while most of the phones in this range bundle transparent cases. The Redmi 14C has an IP52 rating, making it dust and water-resistant, which is pretty basic and capable of handling water splashes.

Redmi 14C 5G: Performance and Software
The Redmi 14C 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC paired with 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of onboard storage, up to 6GB of which can be utilized as virtual RAM. It also supports additional storage expansion of up to 1TB via a dedicated microSD card.
In Geekbench 6, the Redmi 14C 5G achieved a single-core score of 922 and a multi-core score of 2185. The processor performs well for everyday tasks like social media browsing and casual games. While playing more demanding games like BGMI, some jitters were noticeable, which is understandable given the phone's price.
I ran TempleRun 2, which was smooth, thanks to the 120Hz display. On the software front, the Redmi 14C runs on Android 14 with Xiaomi's HyperOS skin on top. While the software is relatively clean, there are some pre-installed apps, which can be uninstalled as well.

Redmi 14C 5G: Camera
The Redmi 14C features a 50MP primary camera, a 2MP secondary sensor, and an 8MP selfie camera. While the camera design appears impressive, its performance is a mixed bag.
The main camera delivers decent results in capturing photos in both outdoor and indoor settings. Daylight shots are particularly impressive. Even portraits are also good, especially considering the phone's price point. However, low-light performance falls short, with a lack of clarity and detail in images. The quality deteriorates noticeably when you zoom in, resulting in a loss of sharpness and detail.
The front camera takes decent selfies but struggles in low-light environments with noticeable noise and overly smoothed skin tones. The Redmi 14C 5G also offers a range of camera modes, making it a solid choice for its asking price of Rs 9,999. Here are some samples straight from the Redmi 14C's camera.

Redmi 14C 5G: Battery
The Redmi 14C packs a 5160mAh battery with support for 18W wired charging; however, it bundles a free 33W in-box charger worth Rs 1,999. I'm quite impressed with the Redmi 14C's battery life. While it takes around two hours to fully charge, the endurance is remarkable.
For moderate users who primarily make phone calls, a single charge can easily last over a week.
Even for heavy users who spend time on social media and streaming videos, where the phone can last more than two days. In my experience, after charging the phone, I watched content on YouTube for about an hour daily over 3-4 days without needing to recharge.
Verdict
If you're looking for a good-looking 5G smartphone under Rs 10,000, the Redmi 14C is worth considering. It can easily handle everyday tasks and casual gaming smoothly, and the daylight camera delivers decent performance.
However, its low-light photography falls short, and the absence of a dedicated ultra-wide camera might be a drawback for photography enthusiasts. If you're looking for a camera-focused phone, this might not be the best option.
The Redmi 14C offers impressive battery life for moderate usage, making it an excellent choice for parents or users who prefer a phone that doesn't need frequent recharging. However, the absence of fast charging might disappoint those who prioritize quick top-ups.
Overall, for those on a tight budget, the Redmi 14C delivers solid performance and 5G connectivity at a reasonable price tag. Before making a final decision, though, it's worth exploring alternatives like the POCO F6 5G and Vivo T3X 5G, which offer competitive features in the same price segment. Additionally, if you're willing to stretch your budget by Rs 3,000-4,000, you can find options with better performance and enhanced camera capabilities.
