The Indian tech world woke up this morning with the reports of leaked mug shot of Samsung's upcoming mid-range Android smartphone, Galaxy Ace 3. Only few hours passed, and the South Korean giants has lift the lid to show off the brand new phone.
Well, as mentioned in the press release, Galaxy Ace 3 will be available in the international market in two different variants viz. 3G and LTE. Talking about the other highlighted specs, here below is a brief rundown on the latest Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 handset:
Both 3G and LTE Version of Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 will sport a 4-inch TFT LCD display with a WVGA resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.
Processor, RAM and OS
The Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 packs a 1GHz dual-core CPU which is supported by 1GB RAM. The 3rd Generation Galaxy Ace runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean platform. However, LTE Version has a slightly better processor dialed to 1.2GHz.
At the back there's a 5MP camera with LED flash, capable of recording 720p HD @30fps video. There's also a VGA front-facing camera for video chatting. The 5-megapixel camera is equipped with multiple features, including Sound & Shot, Best Photo, and Buddy Photo Share to fuel users' creativity and to allow easy sharing amongst friends. The 3G version has a video playback at 720p while the LTE version features 1080p video playback.

The Galaxy Ace 3's connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (single-band), Bluetooth 4.0, and A-GPS and 3G. LTE and dual SIM version is also said to launch in select marks.
Dimensions, Weight and Battery
Measuring 121.2 x 62.7 x 9.8 mm, the Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 weighs 115 grams and sports a Li-ion battery of 1,500mAh. However the LTE version has a 1,800mAh battery, making the LTE Galaxy Ace 3 slightly heavier at 119.5 grams and thicker with 10mm.
The final difference between the 3G and LTE version is the HSPA speeds which reach 42Mbps on the LTE units and just 14Mbps on the 3G ones.
Price and Availability
There is no mention of the exact pricing and availability of the Galaxy Ace 3 at this point, but we hope more information will be provided soon.
Galaxy Ace 3 - Just Like its Predecessor?
The predecessor Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 was launched back in February 2012 boasting 3.8 inch TFT LCD capacitive display with the same WVGA (480x800) resolution. Other specs of the handset includes Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread OS (which can now be upgraded to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean), dual-core 800 MHz processor on NovaThor U8500 chipset with the Mali-400 as GPU, 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and auto focus, VGA quality front facing camera, 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery.
Connectivity wise, this also has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, A-GPS and 3G, NFC option. Further, Dimension wise, Galaxy Ace 2 build figured up to 118.3 x 62.3 x 10.5 on a weight of 118.5g.
Hence, Galaxy Ace 3 has got higher specs, only when it comes to screen size, a slight difference in the Android version and the processor power.
