The Galaxy Gear's camera gets big applause from team GizBot. The 1.9MP camera shooter is capable of taking some great pictures. We were stunned to see the picture quality. It's easy to navigate the camera menu. The camera is placed on the back of rubber strap. Surely, the placement of camera is unusual, but don't take the Gear's camera in a light manner. The Camera can even record videos in SD/HD format. You are only able to record videos (720p HD) for limited 15 seconds.

Samsung Galaxy Gear: Battery

The Gear comes fitted with a 315mAh battery fitted inside. Samsung says the Gear can run up to 25 hours on a single charge. In our testing, we found that the Gear managed to give roughly same usage, as claimed by the manufacturer. Generally, a smart watch should lasts up to 3-4 days on a single charge. Since the Gear comes with so many in-built features, the makers could have come up with a larger battery or a power saving screen.

Conclusion

Priced at approximately Rs. 19,000 in the Indian market, Samsung Galaxy Gear has a fair chance to be accepted by a set consumer base. But Samsung should learn from the first-generation Galaxy Gear and come out with a better successor, which is already rumored to be in the making.

As we also expect e-mail support, Facebook/Twitter integration, and slightly better features from the next generation wearable technology. Still, the first-generation Galaxy Gear is not a bad attempt, and we recommend you to get one.
