The remake of the classic flip phone called the Galaxy Golden from Samsung, which was launched last year at a premium price of Rs. 51,900, has now received a massive price cut. As of now, the device is being offered by Flipkart at the price of Rs. 29,999. Thus Samsung has brought down the price of the device by Rs. 20,000.
The dual screen featuring flip phone features two 3.7-inch (480 x 800 pixels) dual touch screen Super AMOLED displays. It is powered by a 1.7GHz Qualcomm MSM8930 dual-core processor coupled with 1.5GB of RAM and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.
Samsung Galaxy Golden also comes with an efficient 8MP rear camera with LED Flash and there is a 1.9MP front facing shooter as well. It houses 16GB of in-built storage unit and also comes with a microSD card slot which supports up to 64GB of additional memory.
Connectivity options include 3G, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS / GLONASS. The smartphone, which measures 118 x 59.5 x 15.8 (mm) and weighs 179 grams draws its energy from a 1,820 mAh battery.
This flip phone sports a physical numeric keyboard with Android keys in the open form as well as capacitive Android keys on the front in the closed form with display on both sides.
After having a look at the specs, you will realize that it doesn't come with heavy specs but having a unique design and gold color is one thing that adds more weight to the price tag of the device. At the same price range, if you compare, there are ample number of smartphones which come with high-end specs and features. Google Nexus 5 is one perfect example here.
