Samsung Galaxy K Zoom Smartphone With 20.7MP Camera, Voice Call Support Unveiled

Just like it promised yesterday via a teaser posted on Instagram, Samsung has today officially announced its first camera-centric phone dubbed as Galaxy K zoom for this year, at an event in Singapore. You can call the handset as the successor to the company's Galaxy S4 Zoom launched last year.

The Samsung Galaxy K zoom comes in multiple color variants viz. Charcoal Black, Shimmery White and Electric Blue with textured casing for firm grip. Although, online reports suggest that the new smartphone will go on sale globally in May 2014, Samsung has not shed any light on the pricing and availability of the handset as yet.

In the current state of technologically advanced users, connected devices have been playing a major role in all possible aspects. The Galaxy K zoom comes with a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display offering an HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It is powered by Hexa-Core (1.7 GHz Dual Core + 1.3 GHz Quad Core) Exynos (5260) processor and Mali-T624 GPU coupled with 2GB RAM. Obviously, the device comes loaded with Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS with the latest Samsung Touchwiz UX.

As said earlier, the camera-centric handset uses a 20.7MP rear camera with Xenon Flash, BSI Sensor, OIS and 10x optical zoom. It is capable of shooting 1080p video at 60 fps. Moreover, the copmany has also used a 2MP front-facing shooter to offer video calling and taking selfies. It has AF/AE Separation (Auto Focus/ Auto Exposure Separation), Pro Suggest with 5 optimized filter settings, Selfie Alarm to take timed selfies, object tracing and more. Native storage seats at 8GB and it is expandable up to 64GB via microSD card.

South Korean smartphone amker have employed a wide range of connectivity options in this device which include 4G LTE/3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Bluetooth v4.0 LE, aGPS + GLONASS and NFC.

Lastly the Galaxy K zoom draws its energy from a 2,430mAh battery. The yet to be released handset which incredible camera hardware and features is also loaded with Samsung's proprietary apps like Ultra Power Saving Mode, S Health Lite, Studio app and more.

The company is yet to reveal the price and availability of the handset. Samsung says that the handset is an heavily improved version of the Galaxy S4 Zoom from last year. However, in terms of competition, it will definitely give a tough time for devices like Xperia Z1 Compact, Nokia Lumia 1520, and other camera oriented phones available in the market.
