Soon after the announcement, back in September, Samsung released its Galaxy Mega 2 smartphone in select Asian markets. Now, it looks like the smartphone will soon visit India. Reliable retailer - Manish Khatri from Mahesh Telecom says that that the smartphone will launch in India later this week at the price of Rs. 21,499 (MOP) and the MRP would be Rs. 24,300.

The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 that was released in Asian countries were Cosmic Black and Blizzard White color variants but the India gets Brown Black color.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 2: Key Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 sports a 6-inch ( 1280 x 720 pixels) HD display. Powering the smarpthone is a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor (probably Snapdragon 410) coupled with 1.5 GB of RAM. The smarpthone runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS.

The device would offer a decent photography aspect. It uses an 8MP auto-focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 2.1 MP front-facing snapper as well.

Internal storage seats at 16GB, which is further expandable up to 64GB via microSD card.

Connectivity options include 3G HSPA+21Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n 2.4 + 5GHz, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS+GLONASS and NFC. Additionally, the Galaxy Mega 2 is also a Dual SIM smartphone.

The device that measures 8.6mm thick is powered by a 2800 mAh battery.

The Galaxy Mega 2 offeris most of Samsung's latest software features - including Ultra Power Saving Mode (for longer battery life), and One-handed operation mode (quite useful on a screen that large).

However, the South Korean tech giant has not officially confirmed the device's launch in India.
