Samsung has started rolling out the latest Android Lollipop 5.0 update for its latest Galaxy Note Edge smartphone. This update is currently available over-the-air (OTA) in Australia and is expected to reach other markets in the coming weeks. As the official change log is not available, in this update we are expecting some improvement TouchWiz UX, performance enhancements, ART as default runtime, enhanced notifications, and more.

Reiterating the specs of Galaxy Note Edge, it sports a 5.6-inch display with a resolution of 1600x2560 pixels, powered by a 2.7 GHz Quad-Core processor along with 3GB RAM, features 16MP rear camera, 3.7MP front camera, 32/64 GB storage capacity and powered by a Li-Ion 3000 mAh Battery

On the other hand Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is also getting the Lollipop 5.0 update, according to the company. Initially, Galaxy Note 2 was originally launched in August 2012 with Android 4.1 on the board. Moving on to the specs, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes with 5.5-inch display with 720x1280 display powered by 1.6GHz processor alongside 2GB RAM. It is packed with 16GB of internal memory, 64GB via microSD , 8MP rear camera, 1.9MP front camera.

Lollipop updates comes with new material design which offers a bold, colorful and responsive UI design, refreshing notification system. It allows the users to see the notification in the lock screen and heads up notification are displayed like banners on the top of the screen.

Additionally, there is do-not-disturb feature also added in the notification bar. This update also contains battery optimization, which includes battery saver mode, job scheduling and a new developer tool called Battery Historian which tracks the battery consumption by the apps.

But officially, there is no word about the update reaching the smartphone.
